Expert Nutrition Coaching for Adults on GLP-1 Medications
The way you eat changes on a GLP-1. Appetite suppression, delayed gastric emptying, and the ease of eating too little all feel manageable at first — until the downstream effects become impossible to ignore.
In Emily’s
words
I want you to know something: if you're on semaglutide, tirzepatide, or a similar medication and you're worried about muscle loss, fatigue, hair thinning, nutritional deficiencies, or what happens when the medication does its job — those concerns are valid. And they're addressable.
You made a thoughtful decision to use this medication. You deserve a board-certified Registered Dietitian who respects that decision and gives you the nutritional strategy to protect your results long-term. There's no judgment here. No diet rules. No recycled advice from a 1,200-calorie playbook. Just smart, research-backed guidance to help you protect your muscle, feel strong, and build habits that hold.
What Most Prescribers Don't Have Time to Tell You
Your prescriber gave you a powerful tool. But the tool is only as good as the nutritional foundation supporting it. When calorie intake drops significantly on a GLP-1, the body doesn't just burn fat — it burns muscle too. This can undermine metabolism, strength, and long-term weight maintenance. Hair thinning, fatigue, nutrient deficiencies, and digestive issues are real risks when nutrition support isn't part of the picture.
The medication itself probably isn't causing your hair loss directly. What's more likely is rapid weight loss combined with inadequate protein, insufficient calories, and nutritional gaps that your body is now trying to manage on a dramatically reduced intake. The encouraging part is that all of this is manageable with the right strategy.
Here's the challenging news: most general nutrition advice is completely inadequate for someone on a GLP-1. You need guidance that was actually designed for where you are — not generic healthy eating tips that assume a normal appetite and a normal relationship with food.
The HealthierSpan Method GLP-1 Nutrition
This practice operates on three core beliefs: you are an adult who can handle real information, restriction is not a strategy and nourishment is, and the goal is a longer, healthier life — not just a smaller number on the scale.
Muscle preservation is non-negotiable. We calculate your customized protein targets based on your body weight, age, activity level, and medication dose. We build practical strategies for hitting those targets when your appetite is suppressed. We address resistance training nutrition, creatine, and the grounded in current research supplements that actually matter for muscle preservation on a GLP-1.
GI symptom management is a priority, not an afterthought. Nausea, constipation, early fullness, reflux, and slowed digestion are among the most common reasons people struggle or stop GLP-1 medications early. Most of these symptoms are manageable with the right nutritional strategy — food texture, timing, portion guidance, fiber and hydration protocols, and specific guidance on what to eat on low-appetite days without falling into nutrient deficiency.
Maintenance planning starts on day one. What happens when you reach your goal, reduce your dose, or come off the medication entirely? This is one of the least-discussed and most important aspects of GLP-1 therapy. Without a solid nutrition plan in place, weight regain and old habits can resurface quickly. We build your maintenance framework from the beginning — appetite recalibration strategies, sustainable calorie and macro targets, and supported by the science approaches to preventing weight regain.
Is This Right for You?
This coaching is for adults who are newly starting a GLP-1 medication and want to get ahead of the nutrition piece. For those who've been on the medication for several months and feel like they've been winging the food side of things. For those experiencing side effects or symptoms that are making it hard to eat well consistently. For anyone who wants to protect their muscle, their energy, and their long-term results.
You don't need a referral. You don't need permission. You just need to be ready to take the nutrition side of this as seriously as you took the decision to start the medication.
What clients say
1:1 clients, in their own words. Initials and ages only.
Honestly, I just wanted someone to tell me what to eat. Instead, she asked me what mattered to me and why I kept ignoring my health. A year later, my cholesterol is better, my doctor’s appointments go better, but most importantly I feel capable again.
What surprised me was how much we talked about my actual life—my schedule, my stress, why I was skipping meals then binging at night. Now I meal prep without thinking about it, and I actually have energy to do things after work.

What's your stance on GLP-1s for weight loss?
I’m neither pro nor anti GLP-1. I’m pro-strategy.
GLP-1 medications can be highly effective tools when used appropriately. They also come with risks. Both are true.
My job isn’t to tell you whether or not to take them. It’s to help you make informed decisions and ensure you’re protecting your muscle, bone, brain, and metabolic health throughout the process. If you’re taking a GLP-1 without a strategy, you need one. Start with the GLP-1 nutrition coaching page.
What's included in your programs?
All of it: nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, hormones, gut health, metabolic function, biomarkers, supplements, mindset, and habit formation.
I’ll equip you with whatever tools you’re missing. We also strategize for doctors appointments, work together to find specialists, personal trainers, etc to leave no stone unturned.
Holistic doesn’t just mean we talk about everything, it means we understand how everything connects. Your body is one system. Poor sleep drives poor food choices. Chronic stress impacts your gut health. Inflammation affects your energy and metabolism.
We identify what’s actually driving your symptoms, address root causes instead of just managing symptoms, and build sustainable strategies that last.
How long are your programs?
It depends on your goals and situation.
The 1:1 program is 3 months with 10 sessions, weekly at first and then every other week. The couples program is 6 months with 16 sessions. Group programs run 6 weeks with weekly sessions, and the wedding glow up is 6 weeks.
We’ll discuss the right timeframe for you during our initial conversation.
