Privacy Policy

The short version

I collect very little. I never sell it. You can ask me to delete it.

Everything below is the detail behind those three sentences. It covers this website, the forms on it, and the information you share with me if you become a client.

I work from the United States and I work with people outside it. I handle your information under U.S. privacy law, and under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where that applies to you.

What I collect

Collected automatically when you visit

  • Technical data. Your IP address, browser, device type, operating system, the page that sent you here, and the date and time of your visit.
  • Usage data. Which pages you opened, how long you stayed, what you clicked, and how far you scrolled.
  • Analytics data. None of it, unless you allow it first. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

Collected because you gave it to me

  • Contact information. Your name, email address, phone number, and anything else you type into a form or send me directly.
  • Client information. If you become a client, the health history and personal details you choose to share so that I can do the work properly.

Why I collect it

  • To run the site. Understanding how people move through it so I can make it clearer.
  • To improve it. Seeing which pages help and which ones do not.
  • To do the work. Providing and managing nutrition counseling if you become a client.
  • To keep it safe. Watching traffic for fraud, misuse and security problems.

I do not use your information for unrelated marketing, automated profiling, or resale.

Cookies and analytics

This site loads no analytics and sets no tracking cookies until you say yes. The first time you arrive, a banner asks. Decline and nothing is loaded. Allow and the site loads Google Analytics, which sets cookies and reports how the site is used.

Your answer is remembered in your own browser. You can change it whenever you like from the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may work less well if you do.

How long I keep it

  • If you never become a client. Browsing and analytics data is held briefly, then anonymized or deleted.
  • If you become a client. Your records are kept as long as I need them to provide the service and to meet the professional and legal obligations that apply to health records.

Who sees it

Your information is never sold. It is shared only in these cases:

  • Service providers. Trusted vendors who host the site or provide technical support and analytics, under confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal obligations. When a law, a court order or a government request requires it.
  • Safety. To protect you or someone else from harm.

If you are outside the United States

I am based in the United States. If you use this site from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed here, or wherever my service providers operate.

If you are in the European Union or another region with strict data protection law, I will honor the rights that law gives you, including access, correction, deletion and restriction.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask me to:

  • Show you a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Delete your information, unless a professional or legal obligation requires me to keep it.
  • Restrict how I use it.
  • Stop analytics. Withdraw your consent for cookies and analytics at any time.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority if you believe I have not respected these rights. To exercise any of them, email me.

Security

I use reasonable technical, administrative and physical safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.

No website or storage system is completely secure. I protect your data carefully, but I cannot guarantee it absolutely.

Children

This site and my services are not for children under 13, or under the age of digital consent where you live. I do not knowingly collect information from children. If I find that I have, I delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

I update this policy when my practices, my tools or the law change. The new version goes up here with a new date. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the change.
