Virtual Nutrition Coaching for Real, Lasting Results

What you don't need is another generic meal plan handed to you without context, or a list of foods to avoid that ignores your actual life. You need a Registered Dietitian who will actually look at your full picture — your labs, your health history, your life — and help you build a eating strategy that works for your body and your goals.

In Emily’s
words

HealthierSpan offers virtual nutrition coaching for adults navigating chronic health conditions, hormonal changes, weight management, and everything in between. All sessions are conducted via secure video platform, making expert, personalized nutrition support accessible wherever you are.

Here's what I want you to know, and I mean this: the research consistently supports the effectiveness of virtual nutrition counseling. Many clients find it more convenient, more consistent, and easier to maintain over time — which directly improves outcomes. You don't lose anything by doing this virtually. In many ways, you gain more.

Who We Work With

HealthierSpan works with adults who are ready to make meaningful, lasting changes to their health through nutrition. This practice has deep clinical experience in the following areas:

Cardiovascular health. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, heart disease risk reduction. DASH diet and Mediterranean diet implementation. Sodium reduction strategies that don't sacrifice flavor. Cardiovascular nutrition is one of the most evidence-rich areas of dietetics — and one of the most misunderstood. If you've been told to "just eat less salt" or handed a pamphlet and sent home, you deserve more than that.

Blood sugar and diabetes management. Type 2 diabetes — newly diagnosed and long-standing. Prediabetes and insulin resistance. Metabolic syndrome. Blood sugar stabilization and A1C reduction. Carbohydrate awareness without elimination. Managing blood sugar through nutrition doesn't mean giving up entire food groups. It means understanding how different foods affect your glucose, building a pattern of eating that keeps levels stable, and finding an approach you can actually sustain.

Menopause and hormonal health. Perimenopause and menopause nutrition support. Weight changes and redistribution. Bone density and osteoporosis prevention. Hot flash and symptom management through diet. Muscle preservation during hormonal transition. The nutrition needs of women in perimenopause and menopause are dramatically different from any earlier stage of life — and most general nutrition advice completely ignores this.

Weight management. Sustainable weight loss without restriction or deprivation. Weight management for adults with chronic health conditions. Body composition — building muscle, reducing body fat. Overcoming weight loss plateaus. Anti-diet, non-restrictive approaches. Weight is complicated. It is affected by hormones, medications, health conditions, sleep, stress, and genetics — not just willpower and food choices.

Gut health and digestive wellness. IBS, GERD and acid reflux, constipation, low FODMAP diet guidance, bloating and food sensitivity navigation, gut-brain connection and stress-related GI symptoms.

Kidney health, inflammation and immune support, healthy aging and longevity, thyroid and hormonal conditions, women's health and life stages, mental health and mood, cancer nutrition support, sports and performance nutrition, liver health. If it involves nutrition, we address it — with clinical expertise, tailored to you strategy, and genuine compassion.

How Virtual Coaching Works

Every client at HealthierSpan goes through a consistent, structured process designed to produce real results — not surface-level tips.

Intake and onboarding — full-spectrum health history, labs review, and goals clarification. Individualized plan — nutrition targets, meal framework, and priority action steps built around your diagnosis, labs, and lifestyle. Ongoing sessions — bi-weekly check-ins with progress review, troubleshooting, and optimization of your plan. Between-session support — messaging access for questions and real-time guidance. Program close — long-term maintenance framework, goal reassessment, and referrals as needed.

You will never receive generic handouts or a one-size-fits-all plan. Every recommendation is built around your personal labs, your diagnosis, your food preferences, and your life.

What clients say

1:1 clients, in their own words. Initials and ages only.

Honestly, I just wanted someone to tell me what to eat. Instead, she asked me what mattered to me and why I kept ignoring my health. A year later, my cholesterol is better, my doctor’s appointments go better, but most importantly I feel capable again.
M.T., 52 · 1:1 client
What surprised me was how much we talked about my actual life—my schedule, my stress, why I was skipping meals then binging at night. Now I meal prep without thinking about it, and I actually have energy to do things after work.

Every program starts with a free 30-minute strategy call. No obligation. HSA and FSA accepted; insurance is not accepted.

What's your stance on GLP-1s for weight loss?

I’m neither pro nor anti GLP-1. I’m pro-strategy.

GLP-1 medications can be highly effective tools when used appropriately. They also come with risks. Both are true.

My job isn’t to tell you whether or not to take them. It’s to help you make informed decisions and ensure you’re protecting your muscle, bone, brain, and metabolic health throughout the process. If you’re taking a GLP-1 without a strategy, you need one. Start with the GLP-1 nutrition coaching page.

What's included in your programs?

All of it: nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, hormones, gut health, metabolic function, biomarkers, supplements, mindset, and habit formation.

I’ll equip you with whatever tools you’re missing. We also strategize for doctors appointments, work together to find specialists, personal trainers, etc to leave no stone unturned.

Holistic doesn’t just mean we talk about everything, it means we understand how everything connects. Your body is one system. Poor sleep drives poor food choices. Chronic stress impacts your gut health. Inflammation affects your energy and metabolism.

We identify what’s actually driving your symptoms, address root causes instead of just managing symptoms, and build sustainable strategies that last.

How long are your programs?

It depends on your goals and situation.

The 1:1 program is 3 months with 10 sessions, weekly at first and then every other week. The couples program is 6 months with 16 sessions. Group programs run 6 weeks with weekly sessions, and the wedding glow up is 6 weeks.

We’ll discuss the right timeframe for you during our initial conversation.

How do I get started?

Book a free 30‑minute strategy call, fill out the contact form, or email me directly at emily@healthierspan.com. I’ll respond within 1-2 business days to discuss your goals, answer questions, and determine which program is the best fit.

From there, I make enrollment and scheduling as easy as possible. You’ll be set up and ready for your first session quickly.

Health isn’t luck.
It’s a learnable skill.
